   Tabla Tale

(Harmony with rhythm…Conceived and composed by Shri   Subhankar Banerjee)

“TABLA-TALE” - The expression of a highly evolved artistic sensibility of  ‘SUBHANKAR BANERJEE’, the artist par excellence of this generation.

“TABLA-TALE” –is a subtle, soothing and brilliant melding of different colors of rhythm blended with melody, an exquisite tapestry only a master could weave.

It is a journey of  “TABLA”, the most versatile percussion instrument of the world, starting from its original identity and despite being in company of other Indian and world music with freedom, thus establishing its own and unique personality and taking the audience to magical enlightenment

A tale, which has been told   and demonstrated to the people of the world through the one and only and the most versatile percussion instrument  “TABLA” by the maestros of Indian music is going to be displayed by the present generation musicians.

Since ages, TABLA has been enormously popularized as a solo and accompanying instrument with its own identity in the world over.

TABLA TALE, which is displayed in nine different music pieces (Indian classical and non-classical and with different flavors of Flamenco, jazz, Arabian, Brazilian and African rhythmic and melodic lines with an Indian interpretation). The pieces are comprised of playing tabla as solo with a traditional style of playing and then continued to accompany the Indian instrumental music (classical and light classical) according to the sound and mood of the instruments and the musicians respectively. There will be pieces resembling different rhythm and the melody patterns of different countries played along with the tabla with it’s own identity played by different celebrated musicians. So it is a journey with rhythm starting from hardcore Indian Classical music to modern and world music conducted by ‘TABLA’ along with the other instruments.
